Cold Weather Tattoo Removal Offers More Privacy

As I write this post it’s 22 degrees outside and the perfect time to begin the removal of  a tattoo. There is snow on the ground, everyone stays bundled up even when indoors, so no one will see what’s going on underneath your long sleeves as you begin your first tattoo removal treatment on your forearm or wrist.

It’s odd that the majority of persons suffering from tattoo regret don’t consider winter a good time to remove a tattoo. They instead begin the process in the spring or summer when they are wearing less clothing and bareing more skin. To explain this further, it must be understood that tattoo pigment is in the second layer of skin called the dermis, which is underneath the pigmented layer of skin which is in top skin layer. As the tattoo removal process progresses, the production of melanin, (another name for skin pigment), is interrupted leaving the skin below susceptible to damage from UV radiation should the treated area be continually exposed to sunlight during the removal process.
